About the Foundation

Our charitable and scientific mission is to conduct research and communicate psychology, engineering, ergonomics, and human factors in accessible formats.
What we do
Human Factors Cast Foundation Limited connects research and practice with people who can use them. We create public explanations, educational media, interviews, and conference coverage. Our volunteer Digital Media Lab tests practical approaches to science communication.
Human factors concerns the fit between people and the systems they use. A clear explanation can help a student find the field, help a designer consider a user’s limits, or help a member of the public ask better questions about technology and safety. Our materials serve practitioners, students, researchers, educators, designers, engineers, safety professionals, and the broader public.
Two different beginnings
The podcast came first. The nonprofit came later.
Human Factors Cast began as a podcast about research, design, technology, and the human side of systems.
Human Factors Cast Foundation Limited formed to carry public education, scientific work, and its media programs under a charitable mission.
One Foundation, several programs.
The Foundation operates Human Factors Cast as one program. Human Factors Minute, the Digital Media Lab, public resources, and conference coverage are also part of its work. The podcast has a longer history than the organization; it is not a separate nonprofit.
We aim to keep core educational resources available without a subscription. The podcast archive remains at humanfactorscast.media, where listeners can access episodes and transcripts. This site explains the Foundation’s mission and provides its own public learning materials.
